Y7 Summit 2025

The Y7 is a collaborative policy process. Delegates from diverse sectors and disciplines work together throughout the year to debate key global issues and craft evidence-based, forward-looking solutions. This work culminates at the annual Y7 Summit, where delegates adopt a Final Communiqué outlining consensus policy proposals. The Communiqué is formally presented to G7 Presidents and Heads of State as part of the official G7 process.

As Y7 Chair in 2025, Young Diplomats of Canada convened a dynamic cohort of youth leaders committed to advancing innovative, practical solutions to complex global challenges, ensuring that youth perspectives meaningfully shape international decision-making at the highest level.

The Youth 7 (Y7) Summit is the official youth engagement group of the Group of Seven (G7), the forum representing the world’s seven most advanced economies. As one of the G7’s formal engagement groups, the Y7 convenes leaders and innovators under the age of 30 from across G7 member states and the European Union to develop policy recommendations on today’s most urgent global challenges.

The Y7 Secretariat is composed of 10 young Canadian leaders who led national consultations and negotiations with delegates across Group of Seven countries. They helped shape policy recommendations on climate action, economic opportunity, global security, digital innovation, and social equity.

From communications and partnerships to programming and delegate experience, the team ensured a seamless, impactful convening for youth leaders from across the G7.
