2025 Y7 Working Group
The 2025 Y7 Working Group operated as a volunteer team composed of Young Diplomats of Canada youth who led the planning and delivery of the Y7 Summit in Ottawa on May 5-9, 2025. From communications and partnerships to programming and delegate experience, the team ensured a seamless, impactful convening for youth leaders from across the G7.
The Working Group selflessly volunteered their time in addition to their studies, professional responsibilities, and day-to-day commitments.
Working behind the scenes for months, members dedicated themselves fully to coordinating speaker and moderator outreach, securing high-level partnerships, and liaising with government counterparts, civil society organizations, and private sector partners to obtain institutional support and sponsorship. The team developed the Summit’s branding, managed media relations and digital outreach, and amplified delegate voices before and throughout the event. The group also oversaw recruitment and selection processes, coordinated travel and accommodation logistics, and ensured seamless on-site execution, including plenaries, working sessions, and high-level engagements.
Their commitment reflected not only professionalism, but a deep belief in youth leadership and public service. Together, these efforts enabled meaningful dialogue between youth delegates and decision-makers, advancing concrete, youth-driven policy recommendations aligned with the G7 agenda. Through their dedication, coordination, and professionalism, the Working Group positioned the Summit as a platform for substantive negotiation, cross-cultural collaboration, and lasting policy impact.
Thank you for all your hard work.
