2026 World Trade Organization
The Public Forum is the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) largest outreach event, providing a unique platform for stakeholders from around the world to discuss the latest developments in global trade and to propose ways of enhancing the multilateral trading system. Held annually, the event attracts representatives from civil society, academia, business, government, international organizations, and the media.
At the WTO Public Forum, YDC Delegates listen to, learn from, and interact with experts from around the world to strengthen their networks and gain deeper knowledge about the WTO’s mandate as well as international trade and finance. Delegates attend Summit sessions and participate in meetings with stakeholders on the ground during the Summit.
This year’s forum, titled ‘Powering the Future”, will focus on services trade as a driver for global economic growth, job creation, and empowerment.
Nazifa Rahman is the Operations and Sustainability Director at ETCH Sourcing, where she works at the intersection of sustainabiltity, energy systems, and supply chains. Based in Calgary, she helps organizations integrate sustainability into procurement strategy and operational decision-making, translating climate ambitions into practical, scalable outcomes.
She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development at the University of Calgary. Her research explores how public policy, procurement, and institutional coordination can accelerate Canada's clean energy transition while strengthening economic competitiveness, energy security, and long-term resilience. She is particularly interested in the role of procurement as a strategic policy tool for advancing industrial decarbonization and sustainable development. Nazifa was selected as a member of the 2026 NextGen Fellowship cohort with the Open Minds, where she collaborates with emerging energy leaders on projects focused on delivering more energy with fewer emissions. Passionate about bridging industry, government, and academia, she is committed to developing practical solutions that support an affordable, reliable, and equitable energy transition.
She was also recognized as a 2026 Top 30 Under 30 honouree by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation for her contributions to sustainability, leadership, and global engagement.
Naz Rahman, Communications Coordinator
Bhanvi Sachdeva is a medical student at the University of Alberta, having completed her prior education at Columbia University and the University of Toronto. As a student, she has been involved with several organizations, including Plan Canada, the Articulate Youth Initiative, and the United Nations, serving as both a delegate and intern at various negotiations. Her work has been recognized with honours including Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women, Alberta's 30 Under 30, and the Princess Diana Award for Community Service. She is passionate about youth advocacy, transparent and equitable digital trade, and community-based interventions.
Bhanvi Sachdeva, Engagement Coordinator
Seunnla Adelusi is a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sherbrooke and a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholar. Her research focuses on developing sustainable waste-to-energy solutions by converting non-recyclable municipal waste into high-value feedstocks for renewable energy production. Through her work, she aims to support the transition toward a circular economy while addressing global challenges related to waste management, energy security, and climate change.
Originally from Nigeria and having studied and worked across seven countries in Europe and North America, Seunnla brings an interdisciplinary perspective spanning engineering, sustainability, innovation, and international development. Her research and leadership contributions have been recognized through numerous national and international awards, including the 2025 Digital GreenTalents Award from the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space.
Beyond academia, Seunnla is actively engaged in mentorship, youth development, global leadership initiatives, and gender equality advocacy. She has supported young people in accessing international mobility programs, scholarships, and research opportunities, and has participated in programs and forums focused on sustainable development and global cooperation.
As a delegate with Young Diplomats of Canada, she is interested in the intersections of climate policy, sustainable development, energy transition, and international trade and collaboration.
Seunnla Adelusi, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Coordinator
Antoinette De Los Reyes is an incoming graduate of the University of Toronto, where she completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Contemporary Asian Studies. Her experience spans international research, municipal government, nonprofit initiatives, and private-sector risk analysis, including work as a Constituency Assistant with the City of Toronto and as an Illicit Finance Analyst.
Antoinette’s field research has been funded through multiple competitive awards and has taken her across Southeast Asia and beyond, including to the Thailand–Myanmar borderlands, the Philippines, and Hong Kong. Her projects have examined labour migration, humanitarian governance, economic networks, and how communities navigate political and institutional change. Through this work, she has engaged with migrants, civil society organizations, government representatives, and international institutions. Her research also received an accolade at Harvard University’s National Research Conference in 2026.
In 2025, Antoinette attended the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings through a fellowship opportunity, further developing her interest in diplomacy, international trade, and multilateral cooperation. Passionate about international cooperation, development, and policy research, she is honoured to represent Canadians at the World Trade Organization Public Forum and hopes to draw on her academic, professional, and international experiences to contribute meaningfully to her work with Young Diplomats of Canada.
Antoinette De Los Reyes, Delegation Liaison
Alison-Lea Abou-Farhat is dedicated to advancing human rights, peacebuilding and humanitarian action through inclusive partnerships, effective governance, and international cooperation. As a Senior Program Analyst with the Human Rights Program at Canadian Heritage, she supports Canada's engagement with United Nations human rights mechanisms and collaborates with governments, Indigenous partners, and civil society organizations to advance Canada's international human rights commitments.
Her experience spans the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Previously, she worked at Global Affairs Canada, supporting Canadians in distress abroad through consular emergency operations and contributing to the implementation of international development projects aligned with Canada's Feminist International Assistance Policy. She also participated in the evaluation of the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund through a publication with Canadian Leaders in International Consulting (CLIC) and has supported community-based emergency relief efforts in the non-profit sector.
Alison-Lea holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs, specializing in Health, Displacement, and Humanitarian Policy, from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) at Carleton University, and an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in Conflict Studies and Human Rights (Co-op) from the University of Ottawa.
