Damai Siallagan (Head Delegate), Taylor Neldner (Communications Coordinator), Angel Chang Wei (Engagement Coordinator), Naomi Ngobila (EDI Coordinator), and Rebecca Vignesswaran (Research Coordinator) attended the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund’s Annual Spring Meetings in Washington DC as representatives of Young Diplomats of Canada.
Key Insights and Lessons Learned
Attending sessions and engaging with global leaders at both WBG and IMF exposed delegates to the complexities of international development, economic policy, and global inequality.
Attending the Spring Meetings opened perspectives to the role Canada can play as a middle power in international institutions as well as at the intersection of the private and public sectors in international affairs
To be Canadian is to be a representative of a cultural mosaic—bringing unique perspectives and ideas. To Canadian youth, I would emphasize that representing Canada internationally is both a privilege and a responsibility. Your voice carries not only your own perspective but also the diversity of experiences that define the country
