Peace and Security

Track group photo, May 2025, Ottawa, Canada

This track focuses on empowering young people as key partners in peace and security by strengthening youth participation, investing in capacity-building, and advancing the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 to support democratic resilience and sustainable peace.

Peace and Security Track

The track calls G7 leaders to…

  • Endorse the Maastricht Principles, giving youth special weight in decision making on intergenerational risks to human rights and institutionalizing multigenerational and inclusive risk assessment frameworks.

  • Strengthen historic commitments to international cooperation by making respect for the Rules based International Order (RBIO) a prerequisite for G7’s work across all domains.

  • Uphold international law and international humanitarian law without compromise, ensuring unhindered, safe, rapid, and uninterrupted humanitarian aid and access and the protection of civilians and aid workers.
