Nicole is an Alberta-based policy professional with experience in government relations, strategic engagement, and public affairs. She holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science (Hons.) and International Relations from the University of Calgary, where she served as President of the University of Calgary Students’ Union for two terms. As President, Nicole advocated on behalf of 28,000 undergraduate students to all three levels of Canadian government, securing over $700,000 in mental health grant funding, and influencing key student priorities in federal-level policy.
Beyond campus leadership, Nicole participated in Plan Canada’s “Seat Share” program with Canada’s Ambassador to the United Nations, where she advanced discussions on gender equity and encouraged the engagement of young women in politics. Her leadership and academic excellence have been recognized through awards including the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation’s Top 30 Under 30 and the University of Calgary’s prestigious President’s Award.
Nicole also brings public policy experience to the YDC Executive, having previously completed a civil litigation internship with the Office of the Attorney General in Washington, DC, where she supported attorneys through the preparation of legal research and policy briefing materials.
Nicole is continuing her work in the public service, currently acting as the Community Liaison in the Ward 8 Office at the City of Calgary, where she applies her collaborative and equity-focused approach to advancing municipal priorities and strengthening community engagement.
Outside of her professional work, Nicole is an internationally ranked competitive Irish Dancer, having represented Canada at the World Championships previously. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and doing photography.
